What is the "Deep Web"
What is the "Deep Web"?

During the past days i've been searching the answer for this question in so many sites and turning with pretty much the same results but, there is a lot to know about this topic. So in order to do this blog and arrange my research at the same time i'll try to gather the most breve and detailed information I could find.

"The internet has, in its storied history, been compared too many things: a river; a superhighway; and, perhaps most famously, a series of tubes. But as it turns out, the most apt comparison of all just might be an iceberg.
Like the mighty floes that break off from glaciers, only 10% of the network we call “the internet” is visible to the general public. Hidden below the virtual waterline lies a tangled and secretive network known as the Deep Web. Unindexed by search engines, and accessible only with special browsers such as The Onion Router (Tor), the Deep Web is made up of peer-to-peer connections, which allow users to share files directly (and secretly)."

What is it used for?
Personally I don't have any intentions on going in the Deep web, I really couldn't do it by the simple fact that I'm not that brave enough, I've heard what you could find over there, and even though most of it is not what people think, there ARE real dangers. If your not careful enough or simply have bad luck you can find yourself in an illegal site, find other users whose intentions are not known, or they may find you, hackers, criminals, and other people who can do real harm might just be out there waiting for unsuspected victims to come across them.
You can perform all sorts of illicit and illegal jobs on the Dark Web (messed up)
Yes, you can hire a hitman, but it's cheaper to get one IRL
The Dark Web gives the ‘black market’ new meaning
You’ll find a lot of ‘substances’ in the Dark Web
You can find a site for pretty much anything
Parts of the Dark Web are havens for terrorist and hate groups

" Many use it to buy drugs and other illegal items from seemingly untraceable sites. But it's also used by people who "want to remain anonymous or set up sites that can't be traced back to a physical location or entity." That includes people who need to protect their identity and communications from state and private surveillance, like whistleblowers and journalists. The report also notes that "dissidents in restrictive regimes may need anonymity in order to safely let the world know what's happening in their country."
